I don’t get the fuss. My kids had cellphones since middle school (age 12). They were not allowed in class and they got detention if they were caught using them. They learned to use them when appropriate and we never really had a problem. When there was an unusual high text message bill one month I changed the plan to less minutes talking with more allowed text messages. That’s how they communicate, they text, they don’t talk on those phones. They are now in college and their cellphones are their constant companions. Instead of the hammer approach, why not teach children to use these phones responsibly. They need to learn many other things as they grow older, why not start here.
